BEC is a logical outcome of the past 25 plus years of benefits counseling by trial and error. The Benefits Education Center is dedicated to delivering timely, comprehensive and accurate information and resources regarding disability and healthcare benefits to your organization, whether it be a community based organization, corporation or in select cases individuals with uniquely complex situations. BEC is also dedicated to improving access to both public and private health coverage in all of the above areas and covering all disabilities.

Benefits Education Center was founded by Daniel Fortuño, noted as one of the leading authorities on Disability Benefits and access to Health Coverage in the United States. Mr. Fortuño brings over 16 years of benefits planning and experience to the Benefits Education Center. BEC specializes in the integration of strategic combinations of public and private benefits meeting the needs of all disabled individuals and communities, assuring the best possible coverage and opportunities for everyone.

Mr. Fortuño & the Benefits Education Center have developed and presented training programs in 13 states including: AK, AZ, CA, NM, TX, LA, HI, WA, NV, NC, NY, MA & CO.  To date, Mr. Fortuño has trained over 5,000 service providers and their consumers living with disabilities nationwide.

 

Mr. Fortuño has coordinated and facilitated the development of collaborations between various disability communities and government agencies, such as the Social Security Administration and the Department of Rehabilitation.  He has conducted trainings with the SSA, presenting over 20 training programs for their Region 9 staff in AZ, CA, HI, NV & NM.

 

BEC & Mr. Fortuño have customized training programs for community-based organizations, medical institutions, government agencies, legal/fiduciary organizations as well as individuals living with disabilities.  Daniel’s passion is evident in his presentation style and his ability to communicate this complex information in easily accessible language.

 

The Benefits Education Center is certified to offer continuing education credits through the CA State Bar, CA Board of Behavioral Sciences and the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselors Certification (Nationally). Mr. Fortuño is currently a nationally certified HRSA benefits training consultant.

 

BEC Programs are customized to suit your particular needs, whether they are corporate, community based or individual. All programs have the same expected outcomes and will increase the following by at least 75%:

• The confidence and competence of training participants to match each individual’s unique situation to the programs that best fit them.

 

• An improved success rate for the initial application approval for Social Security Disability Benefits.

 

• Group and individual benefits coaching client’s ability to improve their benefit outcomes.

 

• The ability of corporations and service providers, such as social workers and case managers to assist consumers with their benefits issues and benefits choices. The ability of consumers to do the same for themselves and to document and assist healthcare practitioners in documenting their disability.

 

Training program outcomes are demonstrated by the increase in knowledge as measured through pre and post training assessments and follow-up surveys and other added incentives as indicated by your individual needs and customized programs.
