With BEC on your team, you will understand the intricacies and complexities of the Disability Benefits System

Benefits Education Center (BEC) provides cutting edge Disability Benefits Training and Private Benefits Coaching to the Community of Providers and Individuals living with all disabilities.

The evolution of the Benefits Education Center is rooted in the long 25  years of the AIDS epidemic that devastated the United States in the early 80s. The onslaught of the epidemic across the country resulted in a grassroots national outcry for benefits and advocacy when people were dying in epidemic numbers with little attention being paid to the crisis at that time.

Through trial and error people living with AIDS (PWAs), their loved ones and service providers came together and managed their way through a very complex web of benefit policies and regulations in an effort to help these dying individuals. Grassroots Community Based Organizations (CBOs) sprung up in major metropolitan cites and later became models that are still emulated today in smaller communities throughout the US.

Mr. Fortuño' discontent with the benefits system in the 1990’s continued to grow as he saw to many PWAs being denied benefits due to a lack of correct information and access to qualified benefits counseling. In response to this challenge, for over 17 years, Daniel has made it his personal commitment to specialize in the integration of public and private benefits for all people living with disabilities.

His work became his passion and BEC has now become a prominent force in narrowing the gap to increase the success rate for benefit awards such as, the initial application approval for Social Security Disability Benefits. Today Mr. Fortuño is considered nationally as one of the foremost authorities on disability benefits and currently works in over 13 states nationwide including Alaska and Hawaii.

BEC’s mission is to improve access to both public and private health coverage to all people with disabilities. BEC accomplishes this through community and corporate based training programs, advocacy, organizational community presentations and individual one on one client coaching.

BEC is dedicated to making available comprehensive and accurate information and resources regarding disability and health coverage benefits to community based organizations (CBOs), corporations and individuals
