  1. Eighteen years of progressive experience in training, counseling, and education in health care and benefits administration.

  2. Proficient in working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and needs.

  3. Highly skilled in interpreting public and private health,  and welfare benefits programs; including Social Security, Medicaid,

    Medicare, state disability, short-term disability, long-term disability, and life insurance.

  1. Strong working knowledge of related state and federal rules and regulations, including current legislation of the Patient Protection 

    and Affordable Care Act (PPACA Health Reform), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disability Act (ADA), and

    Health Insurance Portability and  Accountability Act (HIPAA).

  1. Considered nationally as one of the foremost authorities on disability benefits and has provided benefits education in fifteen states

    including Alaska and Hawaii.

  1. Demonstrated proven abilities in training, program development, benefits counseling, supervision, direct client services and

    resource maximization.

  1. Highly knowledgeable and vast experience on benefits issues for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.

  2. Experience working with American Indians, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian (AI/AN/NH) Communities whose health care

    benefits have been given special consideration based on their distinct and unique trust relationship with United States

    Government: This includes Health Reform 3590: The permanent reauthorization of the Indian Health Care Improvement

    Reauthorization and Extension, and the reauthorization of the Native Hawaiian Health Care Act of 1988.
